Lets All Celebrate the Queen's 90th Birthday

LETS HAVE A PARTY AND HELP THE QUEEN CELEBRATE HER 90TH BIRTHDAY

This year is a very special year for the Queen as she has turned 90. She is the oldest monarch and the longest reigning Queen.

To celebrate her birthday she lit the first of 900 beacons across the UK and overseas as part of the celebrations.

The Queen was presented with a birthday cake by Nadiya Hussain who won The Great British Bake Off. Her cake was an orange drizzle cake filled with butter cream and marmalade.

Over the next couple of months there will be lots of other things happening to celebrate the Queens birthday. 12th - 15th May there will be celebrations in the grounds of Windsor featuring hundreds of horses and performers. 10th June is the national service of thanksgiving at St Paul's Cathedral. 11th June is annual Trooping the Colour at Horse Guards Parade. Then on 12th June the Queen is hosting a street party for 10,000 in the Mall.

We have decided that we want to help the Queen celebrate too, so we are holding a party on Sunday 29th May 2016 from 12pm onwards where there will be party games and fancy dress plus entertainment on the evening from a fabulous Act called "The Inflations". So there will be lots to join in and entertain you throughout the day.
So if you are staying with us over the Spring Bank Holiday Weekend then don't forget to bring your fancy dress costumes and join in!

LIFE OF A DOG ON A HOLIDAY PARK

I love my life on a holiday park with my mum and dad.
It's amazing and never get time to be board, lots and lots to do and see.
I suppose me and my brother Dobby are very lucky to live at Whitby Holiday Park

We even live right next to the beach  and gives us the freedom to gallop around.  We get lots of people who come on their holidays here and they bring their fury friends with them as well and we meet up with them on the beach or in the fields.  Saltwick Bay is the perfect place for us and the walk to Robin Hoods Bay is brilliant across the fields.  My brother dobby loves to spot a rabbit or too and give it the chase, but he has never caught one yet.

A holiday park is certainly the life for me and I'm sure you will all enjoy it as well.  Certainly beats going into kennels. We have some lovely dog friendly caravans you can all stay in and our mum even puts a little treat and a blanket in for you.

I love to sit in the window watching everyone come and go on their holidays.  The best part of living on a holiday park is when all the campers start lighting the BBQ's, the smells are to die for and certainly get my mouth watering.  I start jumping around hoping my dad takes us out for a walk and hopefully we might get the odd sausage or rib from some of our customers.  It's great to see all the families together enjoying their holiday.

If you are very lucky you might get the chance to go into our club for a drink instead of been left behind.

Dog Friendly Whitby!

DOG FRIENDLY WHITBY!!

As a dog friendly holiday park, I thought i would have a look at cafes and bars in Whitby that are dog friendly too.

If you are having a day in Whitby town centre, then the following establishments welcome dogs with open arms!:

Becketts coffee shop on Skinner Street. The owners who are dog owners and often reserve a table for their dog Ketchup Robinson, are very keen for dog owners to come in and have a coffee and something to eat.

The Buck Inn - are very dog friendly and will offer a bowl of water for your dog so they don't feel left out while you enjoy your refreshment!

Other pubs that allow dogs in are: The Station Inn, The Little Angel, The Ship, The Fleece, The Endeavour, Black Horse and The Granby.

the Sherlock Coffee House on Flowergate allows dogs but they are only welcome on the ground floor.

If you fancy going for something to eat then these restaurants allow dogs to come dine with you!

The Humble Pie and Mash shop welcome dogs. This is a great place to go if you like homemade pie and mash with peas, followed with a nice mug of tea to wash it all down with. They have some really tasty pies so be sure to try them all out!

If you fancy fish and chips as we all do when we visit the seaside! Then Mr Chips on Church Street welcome dogs. So you don't have to forfeit your fish and chips when you come and stay with us.
Another Fish Restaurant that allows pets is Abbey Wharf. This restaurant/bar is located in the Market Place just off Church Street and used to be called The Shambles. They not only offer fish and chips on their menu but also steak and chicken with some lovely desserts for afters!

We are very proud to say that we are very dog friendly here at Whitby Holiday Park. We have quite a few Pet Friendly caravans for you to stay in, or we do allow pets on our touring field, so all the family can stay!
We do allow pets on our patio area of the Family Club and if it's quiet we do allow dogs in the bottom room of our Club.

We have a lovely beach which is located just off the Park. The access to the beach is via a footpath and steps directly off the Park. Once down on the beach it becomes a quiet little haven to while a few hours away, whether you go fossil hunting, sunbathing or just to wear the dog out for the evening!
We are also on the Cleveland Way walk so for those of you who have some energetic dogs to tire out then this is perfect for you! The Cleveland Way runs from just outside the Park all the way to Robin Hoods Bay along a 5.5 mile stretch of footpaths, wooded areas and fields. There is some beautiful scenery to take in as you go! Once at the other end you can stop off and enjoy a lovely well earned refreshment at the Victoria Hotel at the top of the bank at Robin Hoods Bay.

If you don't fancy walking then most taxi's in Whitby are dog friendly and will take you and your pet to wherever you would like to go.

alternatively at Raithwaite Hall they have a dog spa, so if you fancy a pamper you can take your pet and they can have a pamper too!

So as you can see you don't have to have the added extra expense of finding a dog sitter or kennels for your beloved pets, you can bring them along with you.

We look forward to seeing you all and your pets throughout the season here at Whitby Holiday Park.

Treat That Someone Special to a Stay with Coastdale Parks

Treat That Someone Special in Your Life to a Holiday with Coastdale Parks

Are you looking for something a bit different this year to treat that special someone in your life?  Don't want to go abroad but not quite sure what to do?

Have you thought about having a staycation his year and joining in all the fun that is to be had right here in our very own country?!

Okay, so we may not get the best of the weather here in the UK, but we do have what must be some of the best countryside and seaside's' right on our very own doorstep!

With Coastdale Parks you get the best of both countryside and seaside as all of our parks are situated on, in or near both!

Here at Whitby Holiday Park, we are situated on the cliff tops of Whitby over looking the beautiful Saltwick Bay.  However we are only a stone's throw away from the beautiful North Yorkshire Moors National Park!

Ideally situated just a mile outside of Whitby town centre we are the perfect place to base your stay in what must be one of the prettiest seaside towns in England! (And yes I am biased!).

If you have your own touring caravan or motor home, our touring field is perfect for you!  With stunning views out over the North Sea and Saltwick Bay, it is perfect for those lazy days of staying in bed and watching the sun rise!

We also hire out static caravans if you're not lucky enough to own your own touring caravan or motor home.  Ranging from Platinum to Pet Friendly, (yes you can bring your trusty four legged friend with you!) we have something to suit everyone!  Our caravans can sleep anywhere from 2 people up to 8 people, depending on which one you book, so make you sure you check that when you book your stay!

For those wanting some exercise whilst staying on park, why not try the Cleveland Way walk.  You can pick this up from the site itself as it runs right through the middle of the park! If you are only wanting a short walk, then you want to take the Cleveland Way footpath to Whitby Abbey then down the 199 steps into the town centre!  If you are wanting something a little more challenging then you want to take the footpath in the opposite direction towards Robin Hoods Bay.  A nice 5 and a half mile walk along the cliff tops and fields.

You don't even have to cook whilst you are here as our Cafe is open from 8am on a morning through til late every evening (make sure you check the boards outside for opening times!)  We have a lovely farmhouse/ deli style shop too so if you've forgotten to pick anything up then you can just nip in there!  And more importantly we have our very own Family Club House on site which does have a fully licensed bar, so you can treat that special someone to a nice cold drink at the end of a long day sightseeing around the North Yorkshire Coast and Moors.

If Whitby is not for you, then why not try one of our Sister Parks:

There's Pakefield Caravan Park, situated on the Sunrise Coast of Suffolk.  With fabulous sea views and direct access to a sand and shingle beach, Pakefield is the ideal base from which to explore the coastal resorts and Villages of Suffolk and Norfolk.  Within a short drive through open countryside, passing windmills and waterways, are the picturesque and tranquil Norfolk Broads National Park!

You can take your trusty touring caravan or motor home here too, or again you could hire one of the static caravans that they have available to rent!  Unlike Whitby, Pakefield has it's own Swimming pool, but who needs one of them when you have the North Sea on your doorstep to swim in?!  Pets are also welcome to join you on your jollies at Pakefield.

Then there's Atlantic Coast Holiday Park, all the way down on the Cornish Coastline.  You can holiday in a secluded location close to the beach and surrounded by the natural beauty of the sand-dunes, whilst the Atlantic washes the nearby shores of of Godrevy and Gwithian beaches, whilst overlooking St Ives.

This part of Cornwall has a mild climate supporting the vast array of exotic and indigenous plants in the Cornish hedges and borders around this 1 acre site.  The dunes have been designated a Place of Special Scientific Interest due to the wildlife habiting there.

Just like Whitby and Pakefield, you can hire out statics here or again bring your own touring caravan or motor home.  And yes, those four legged friends are also welcome here too!

And last but by no means least we have Garreg Goch Caravan Park.  With the Snowdonia mountains providing a scenic back drop, you can holiday in a secluded and peaceful setting, just a short walk along from the golden shores of Black Rock Sands where the views stretch to the iconic Criccieth Castle.

Just a short bus journey away is Portmadog where visitors can enjoy a ride on the Cambrian line to beautiful locations such as Pwhelli or in a southerly direction towards Barmouth and Aberystwyth.

Just like the rest of Coastdale Parks, you can also enjoy one of the hard standing touring pitches with your own touring caravan or motor home, or you can stay in luxury in one of the static caravans they have to hire.  And once again pets are allowed to join you on your jollies, with plenty to keep them occupied!

So, hopefully now you will not be stuck for somewhere different to go this year to treat a special someone (or just yourself) to a nice staycation here in the UK!
