If you are a lover of food, and like to try all sorts of different wonderful treats, then the Malton Food Lovers Festival is just the thing for you! The festival has been going for several years now and each year it just keeps getting better and better.
This year the festival is taking place over the Spring Bank Holiday weekend, Saturday 28th May and Sunday 29th May. This years festiavl is set to be the biggest of them all to date with a variety of stalls, demonstrations, tastings and much much more.
As well as all the many mouth watering delights on offer over the weekend, there will be all sorts of live family entertainment available, including live music across both days!
It is not just local food that will be on offer over the weekend. There will be plenty of locally crafted beers and ciders for you to try too!!
As well as sampling (and buying!) all the wonderful delights that are on offer, there will also be several Celebrity Chef demonstrations. You will be able to sit and watch, and maybe even partake in a master class where the chefs will be showing off their culinary skills and answering any questions you may have.
As well as the celebrity chefs, there will also be some of the local chefs who have made a name for themselves in the area doing demonstrations and master classes.
Some of the chefs attending this years festival are Rosemary Shrager (see picture to the right), James Mackenzie and the famous Bettys of Yorkshire.
As well as taking master classes and doing demonstrations, they will also be doing a question time, so if you want to know the perfect way to cook a certain kind of meat, or want to know a way of jazzing up a particular dish, then this is the time to find out!
If the demonstrations aren't enough for you then why not book yourself onto one of the cooking lessons. However, to partake these particular events you do have to purchase tickets! I am told these go quite quickly so if this is something that you are interested in then you best hurry and buy your ticket before they all get sold out!!
The food festival was originally started to promote the producers and independent shops of Malton, and as each year has proven this has turned into one of the most successful food festivals in the country!
