Tour De Yorkshire coming to Whitby
Not to be missed is the Tour De Yorkshire which starts on Friday 1st May. Why not come and cheer on the participants of the race from Whitby Holiday Park. With a Family Club on Park, with Cafe and Shop we are ideally located to go and cheer everyone one! The Race starts in Bridlington and makes it way all around the North Yorkshire moors taking in Thornton le Dale and Rosedale Abbey. It then heads on back towards the coast of Yorkshire through Danby, Glaisdale and Grosmont and then finally heading through Whitby. Part of the race course runs along the end of our Lane to the Holiday Park, making it a short walk to watch the race go by!
A lot of local businesses, us included, have painted up some bikes with the Yorkshire colours of Blue, Yellow and White.
After the race passes through Whitby it heads to Scarborough for the finish line for Day 1.
Day 2 sees the race head out from Selby and all along the villages that skirt the edges of York and then finishing the race in York itself.
The final day Stage 3 sees the race start off in Wakefield taking in all of West Yorkshire (Barnsley, Hebden Bridge, Haworth, Ilkley) and finally finishing in Leeds.
This is the first Tour de Yorkshire and lets hope its the first of many that can be held in this part of the country!
