Hello, my name is Dean and I am the Entertainer over the summer season here at Whitby Holiday Park.
During the winter months; I prepare upcoming events for the following season: Including kids club activities, games, entertainment handouts and theme nights and days.

North Yorkshire Moors Railway

Whitby Holiday Park is the ideal place to stay, (whether it is in one of our static caravans or in your own touring caravan or motor home), for anyone wishing to visit the beautiful North Yorkshire Moors Railway.

After a nice walk along the Cleveland Way footpath from the Holiday Park into the center of Whitby, why not visit the train station and jump on board the the magnificent steam train and have a wonderful journey through amazing countryside from Whitby right through to the lovely market town of Pickering.

You could stop off at Goathland where you can wander around previously well known T.V and film sets, as Goathland, also known as Aidensfield, was where the police drama Heartbeat was filmed.  You will also find that the station itself in Goathland is familiar, particularly to Harry Potter fans, as this is the station they used for Hogsmead station.

If T.V and film sets are not to your liking, then why not stop off at Grosmont, which is home to the engine sheds where all the locomotives go to get some well deserved rest and restoration.  Grosmont is also home to the earliest horse-drawn passenger railway tunnel which was built between 1833 and 1835 by George Stephenson.

If you a big train buff and fancy more than just a trip along the North Yorkshire Moors Railway, then why not coincide your stay at Whitby Holiday Park with one of the Steam Gala weekends either 25th April -27th April or 2nd May -5th May; where you will get the chance to look around all different types of steam engines and locomotives from all over the country.

Or if you are visiting and have a young family and are stuck for some ideas, why not take advantage of the many themed weekends that happen on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway.  They have a sixties weekend where you will find bands playing music from the sixties at many of the stations along the way throughout the weekend.  They also have a Wartime weekend where people get dressed up in costumes from the war and show you what it was like to have lived and worked on or by the railway during the years of war.

They also have a story train where you can sit and listen to your favorite stories come alive as you travel through the beautiful countryside of the North Yorkshire Moors.  They also have a Witches and Wizards weekend where you can dress up as your favorite Harry Potter character; or you can join in the fun an games set out by Dorothy, Scarecrow, Tin Man and the Lion, on the special Wizard of Oz weekend, where there will be many activities for you to take part in along the way from Whitby to Pickering!

So after an eventful day on the railway, why not head on back to the Holiday Park where you can have a well earned drink in the Club House and be entertained for the night by our In House Entertainer.

But don't leave it too long to book as places are being taken quickly!!

Contact the office today on 01947 602664 to make sure you have your place booked with us!!

This angling festival is held numerous times throughout the year. There are 3 in the year, one in Spring, one in Summer and one in Autumn.

The Spring festival is held between April 5th - 20th.

Regular anglers know the importance of planning their tide and booking with a top skipper well in advance.
Keen fishermen come from far and wide to take part as there are some great prizes to be had!
There is a prize of £1000.00 in cash for the the heaviest fish as well as daily prizes, plus good 2nd and 3rd place cash prizes.

Magpie Cafe in Whitby is the new sponsor for 2014 for the early fishing festivals.

Whitby Holiday Park makes the perfect place to stay as we are only 1 mile from the town centre along the Cleveland Way path that leads from the Park to Whitby Abbey. It's then a short but scenic walk down the 199 steps at the church taking in the views over the harbour and west side of the town.

With the Magpie Cafe being the new sponsor of the festivals this year, it would be rude not to visit and sample some of their mouthwatering fish specialties.

With this fish restaurant being know throughout North Yorkshire and beyond it is best to ring and reserve a table to avoid the long queues of waiting diners!

All in all if fishing is your hobby and you are interested in coming to Whitby to see what the festival entails, then why not tie in a brilliant holiday here with us at Whitby Holiday Park.

To check prices and availability and to take advantage of our Early booking discount of 10% off accommodation stays if you book before 1st February, then give our office a call on 01947 602664

We look forward to hearing from you all soon with your enquiries.

GIZMO & DOBBY - Dog friendly holidays

Not heard from me for a while have you?

I've been busy trying to control my new brother Dobby and teaching his some manners and how to behave in the office.  When my brother first arrived he was called Blade but mum and dad changed his name because he looks like Dobby of Harry Potter.

My mums been getting really cross with him because he jumps up at the office girls and tries to bite their bottoms.  He steels all my toys all the time so I chase him away and bite his legs.

Have you all seen my photo in the new Coastdale Parks brochure and website? Uncle Chris from Head Office used me as a model and I was so pleased.

Mum's been buying lots of treats but we can't have them because they are for all our other fury friends who come and stay at Whitby Holiday Park.

We miss you all as we walk along the cliff tops because you have all gone home for the Winter.  The only thing we can watch is the ships passing bye on the sea.  The views are stunning and we love to go onto the beach for a gallop around.

Make sure you all get your mum's and dad's to book early so you don't miss out.  Can't wait to see you all again and we cant meet up while we are out walking.

Oh no I have just heard my mum on the phone booking me in for a hair cut and a bath, errrr!!!!!  My brother is lucky because he doesn't have to get his hair cut.

Don't forget to ask about the dog show we will be doing again this year.  It was great fun last year and their was lots of treats to be won.

Well time for my afternoon nap now so hope to see you all soon.
