WHITBY
HOLIDAY PARK
STEVE’S CHANGE OF LIFE SINCE HE HIT THE BIG 50
Most of my life I have had sports bikes.
On my 50th birthday my wife decided it was time
for me to slow down if she was going on the back of me.
We decided to go for a Harley Davidson 1200 Sporster to cruise
around the coast on sunny evenings.
I’ve gone from a heavy goods trucker most of my working life
to maintenance on a holiday park which I am really enjoying and meeting
people. I always like the Holiday Park to look clean and tidy so often I
am out on the grass cutter or repairing things around the park. I still get the chance to manoeuvre and site
big 35ft static caravans. This is small
compared to 100ft trailers on the back of me.
All I can say my life has really
changed and slowed down to what I was used to. I spent many long hours on the
road travelling all around the country with my truck on heavy goods, sometimes
15 hours a day and even up at silly hours in the morning.
If there is anymore Harley Davidson fans out there it is a
lovely drive to Whitby Holiday Park so it would be great to see you all and
meet up for a chat.

christania’s “cheap bike rentals” bikes are rolling across the city. The system, less than a year old, is funded by christania’s municipal government. It is currently only in one of christania’s 22 administrative districts. Although a 2nd generation system, there are 12 “Houses” in this district, each with around 40 bikes. The yearly subscription cost is the equivalent of $2 US, and allows the use of a bike for up to four hours at a time. In less than a year, there have been 6,000 subscriptions sold. There are larger 3rd generation systems in the world, which do not have a subscription to bike ratio as big as that.
